Three public workshops will be held in the City of Wenatchee to identify transportation projects that could be funded through a future Transportation Benefit District. Please come and view project ideas from City staff and bring your own project ideas. Project ideas could range from re-paving to street widening and traffic signals.
Meetings will be held at the following locations and times:
• Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Lincoln Elementary School from 5:30pm-7:30pm
• Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at City Hall from noon to 2:00pm
• Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Foothills Middle School from 5:30pm-7:30pm
Background:
In 2008, the City Council passed Resolution 2008-35 stating that the Council will review and consider the creation of a Transportation Benefit District. In 2009, the City Council passed Resolution 2009-13 delaying the schedule established previously and setting a new schedule in 2010. This schedule includes the public workshops and further staff scoping and cost estimating followed by a public hearing in July and Council action in August of this year.
Purpose:
The purpose of these public workshops is for City staff to gather comments from attendees on transportation needs and priorities in the City of Wenatchee. Ideas and comments from these workshops will be further analyzed for cost and benefit. City staff will then present this information to the City Council for their information while contemplating the formation of a Transportation Benefit District.
Venue:
The meetings are informal in nature. Current project ideas will be on display and City staff will be available to answer questions and gather comments from the public.
