Post Date:05/08/2018

 5/9/2018 UPDATE!!!!

The City of Wenatchee is advising water customers in the area affected by the backflow incident on May 7, 2018 that it is no longer necessary to boil their drinking water.

In coordination with the Washington State Department of Health, the City of Wenatchee has completed flushing, water quality sampling, and inspections to resolve the water quality problem created by the illegal irrigation connection. Bacteria and residual chlorine samples collected after the water system was flushed on May 7th have all been satisfactory.  The cross connection that caused the backflow incident has been eliminated.

Here are few recommendations for resuming water use:

  1. If you have not flushed your faucets, please do so for at least 15 minutes.

  2. Consider replacing filters on water-purification systems such as refrigerators and pitchers.

If you have any questions, please contact the City of Wenatchee Public Works Department at 509-888-3235 between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  After hours calls can be made to (509) 630 - 4384.

Please note that the boil water advisory has been lifted and you may resume use of the drinking water.

La ciudad de Wenatchee informa a los clientes del agua en el área afectada por el incidente del reflujo el 7 de mayo de 2018 que ya no es necesario hervir su agua potable.
