The City Dark chronicles the disappearance of darkness at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 19 at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 127 S. Mission St. in Wenatchee.
The 58-minute film follows filmmaker (and amateur astronomer) Ian Cheney as he moves to New York City from Maine and discovers an urban sky almost completely devoid of stars. Featuring stunning astrophotography and a cast of eclectic scientists, philosophers, historians and lighting designers, The City Dark is the definitive story of light pollution and the disappearing stars. Members of the Apple Valley Astronomy Club will be available to answer questions about their organization following the film and, if weather permits, will have telescopes available for viewing.
A $5 donation at the door is suggested.
