Code Enforcement addresses areas of code compliance pertaining to the abatement of public nuisances, substandard housing, and zoning violations as defined in City ordinances. The City's Code Compliance officer is Stacey Burts. To submit a potential code violation complaint, please use the online form. The Code Enforcement Board reviews cases of code violations if voluntary corrections are not made after initial contact by the Code Compliance Officer.
Public Nuisances
Public nuisances include inoperable/junk vehicles, debris, rubbish, garbage, overgrown vegetation, etc. on private and public land. See the definition of "Nuisance" (WCC 2.07.040 (8)) in the Wenatchee Housing Code for the complete description.
Substandard Housing
Substandard housing includes housing that does not meet minimum health and safety standards, such as lack of water, smoke alarms, power or sewer, broken windows, and faulty weather protection, etc. See the definition of substandard buildings (WCC 2.07.290) in the housing code for the complete description.
Zoning
Zoning enforcement addresses violations of the Wenatchee Zoning Code. Such violations commonly concern permitted, conditional and accessory uses, accessory structures, setbacks, required off-street parking, fencing and signs.
