The City of Wenatchee is considering amendments to the Wenatchee Municipal Code. The proposed amendments have been sent to the Washington State Department of Commerce in accordance with RCW 36.70A.106 and published in the Wenatchee World, providing a notice of availability for the public to review the proposals. The City would like to get your input on these proposed amendments!

The draft amendments, comment periods, and hearing schedule are identified below. If you wish to submit written comments; please send to:

What changes are proposed?

The City of Wenatchee Municipal Code

A.  Amendments to Wenatchee City Code (WCC) Chapter 10.42 to allow for residential planned developments which create nine or less lots, tracts, parcels, or residential dwelling units to be processed as a Type II administrative review application. WCC Chapter 1.99 is proposed to be amended to establish related application fees.

B.  Amendments to WCC Chapter 10.20 to accommodate provisions for shared driveway easements and private lanes established by access easements when consistent with review criteria to facilitate infill development.

C.  Amendments for WCC Chapter 11.32 to add provisions for unit lot subdivisions applying exclusively to divisions of land for attached single-family dwelling units and cottage housing developments. WCC Chapter 1.99 is proposed to be amended for associated application fees.

D. Amendments to the district use chart, Section 10.10.020 WCC, to accommodate proposed Waterfront Mixed Use (WMU) designation north of the Wenatchee River implementing the direction of the Sunnyslope Sub-Area Plan.

60 Day Comment Period: A 60-day review and comment period was issued by the City of Wenatchee on March 10, 2017. Please submit comments by May 10, 2017 

Have hearings been scheduled?

• Hearing date before the City of Wenatchee Planning Commission will be May 17, 2017. On each item the Planning Commission will review the proposal and provide a recommendation to the Wenatchee City Council. These hearings begin at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers of Wenatchee City Hall, 129 South Chelan Avenue, Wenatchee. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the public hearing and comment on all pertinent matters.

• A hearing before the Wenatchee City Council to consider the proposed amendments and the recommendation of the City of Wenatchee Planning Commission has been scheduled for July 13, 2017, at 5:15 PM in the Council Chambers of Wenatchee City Hall, 129 South Chelan Avenue, Wenatchee. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the public hearing and comment on all pertinent matters.

Notification 72 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting (28 CFR 35.102-35.104 ADA Title 1.)
