The City of Wenatchee is currently interested in the annexation of several "islands" located within the City's Urban Growth Boundary. These areas include:
- Walnut / McKittrick / Maple Street Area
- Fifth Street to Castlerock
- Circle Street / Okanogan Street Area
- South Wenatchee Area
Because the targeted areas are primarily surrounded by the City of Wenatchee, it is necessary to incorporate them as the City grows. Providing urban-level services to small pockets of unincorporated area is inefficient and creates a burden for all taxpayers.
