Code Enforcement addresses areas of code compliance pertaining to the abatement of public nuisances, substandard housing, and zoning violations as defined in City ordinances. The City's Code Compliance officer is Stacey Burts. To submit a potential code violation complaint, please use the online form. The Code Enforcement Board reviews cases of code violations if voluntary corrections are not made after initial contact by the Code Compliance Officer.
The following Property Maintenance Assistance Guide is provided to assist residents in cleaning and maintaining their properties.
Public nuisances include inoperable/junk vehicles, debris, rubbish, garbage, overgrown vegetation, etc. on private and public land. See the definition of "Nuisance" (WCC 2.07.040 (8)) in the Wenatchee Housing Code for the complete description.
The City of Wenatchee is proud to be a walkable community with an extensive sidewalk system. Many people rely on walking to access stores, schools, bus stops, parks and their place of residence. Keeping a clear walking path available for pedestrians especially helps disabled persons, school children, and senior citizens. Every property owner has a responsibility to help keep walking areas clear of snow according to Wenatchee Municipal Code Section 7.24. The city, on behalf of the citizens of Wenatchee, asks you to take pride in the city and help us keep sidewalks cleared in front of your property. The City of Wenatchee thanks everyone for doing their part to make this a great city!
Below are some illustrations that will help you with snow removal as it relates to city snow plowing. Also see the brochure and city ordinance links below for detailed information and requirements.
Substandard housing includes housing that does not meet minimum health and safety standards, such as lack of water, smoke alarms, power or sewer, broken windows, and faulty weather protection, etc. See the definition of substandard buildings (WCC 2.07.290) in the housing code for the complete description.
Zoning enforcement addresses violations of the Wenatchee Zoning Code. Such violations commonly concern permitted, conditional and accessory uses, accessory structures, setbacks, required off-street parking, fencing and signs.
