We are now in Phase 4 of our Comprehensive Plan update!
The City of Wenatchee and Chelan County are providing joint notice of the following proposed amendments to the Wenatchee Urban Area Comprehensive Plan, City of Wenatchee Capital Facilities Plan, the Wenatchee City Code (WCC), and the City of Wenatchee Residential Design Guidelines; specifically:
- 2026 – 2046 Periodic Update to the Wenatchee Urban Area Comprehensive Plan including revisions to elements, revised goals and policies, amended maps, and a minor adjustment to the urban growth boundary.
- Annual amendments to the City of Wenatchee Capital Facilities Plan.
- Title 10 WCC implementing the 2026-2046 Comprehensive Plan and compliance with state requirements related to parking, supportive housing, homeless shelters, definitions, and development regulations.
- Title 11 WCC amending Unit Lot Subdivision standards to comply with state requirements.
- Residential Design Guidelines related to building material limitations and ground floor uses on pedestrian oriented streets pursuant to state requirements and applicability and character area boundaries to align with amendments to Title 10.
The amendments were sent to the Washington State Department of Commerce as required by RCW 36.70A.106. The state required notice period began on August 12, 2026 and concludes on October 11, 2026.
Comments on the proposed amendments should be submitted as soon as possible for consideration by City staff, the Planning Commission, and the City Council. Comments are accepted up to and at the public hearing. Please email comments to mparsons@wenatcheewa.gov or mail to:

The City of Wenatchee Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 14, 2026 at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers of Wenatchee City Hall, 301 Yakima St, Wenatchee, WA 98801 to consider the proposed amendments. The public is invited to attend the public hearing and comment on all pertinent matters.
The Wenatchee City Council will hold a public hearing on November 19, 2026 at 5:15 PM in the Council Chambers of Wenatchee City Hall, 301 Yakima St, Wenatchee, WA 98801 to consider the proposed amendments. The public is invited to attend the public hearing and comment on all pertinent matters.
