Why is the City doing this Project?

The City Council has allocated funds annually to improvement pavement on city streets.  Each year, with the help of our pavement preservation software, several sections of city streets are selected for preservation work.  This can include milling and repaving, overlaying new asphalt on existing roadways, chip sealing, etc.

The City of Wenatchee performs maintenance treatments (crack sealing, chip seals, overlays) to its streets on a regular basis to extend the life cycle and cut down on major repair/rehabilitation costs.

What will this project include?

This project will involve areas of pavement surfacing in these locations:
Honeysett Rd at Columbia View Circle and Columbia View Ct.       Stella Ave. (McKittrick for 670-ft N.)
Vassar Ave. (Springwater to Cul-de-sac)                                            Pershing St. (5th to Cul-de-sac)
Jefferson St. (Poplar to Pershing)                                                           Willow Pl. (77-ft east of Fuller to Cul-de-sac)

This project will involve areas of pavement repair as well as grinding and repaving some sections of the following roadways:
Sunset (5th to 7th)                                                                                   N Buchanan St (near Washington to 2nd)
Madison (at Princeton) to Cove (at Jefferson)                                      Lewis St. (Walker to Cashmere)
Lincoln St. (Methow to Cashmere)                                                         Wedgewood Ave. (Crawford to Brookside)
Willow Pl. (Fuller to 77-ft east)                                                              Gehr St. (Fuller to Okanogan Ave)

May also include (pending funding):  Seneca St. (Crawford to Splett)

Grinding and repaving city streets requires by law that the pedestrian curb ramps along the improvement areas meet current Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards.  This means that 40 curb ramps along these sections of roadways will be replaced.
