Why is the City doing this Project?

The city has hired a consulting firm to look into bicycle facilities on Ferry/Russell Street or Stevens Street between Miller Street and South Wenatchee Avenue.  This work will build on a study commissioned by Chelan Douglas Transportation Council.  That study proposed a two-way cycle track on Ferry Street from Methow Stree to South Wenatchee Avenue which would eventually tie into the pedestrian bridge at Bridge Street.  This new study will expand on the old study and look into a parallel route along Stevens Street.

What will the Project include?

This project will evaluate the best route for bicycle improvements on Ferry Street or Stevens street.  This project will also divide the final proposed solution into stages so it will be easier to apply for grant funding.  In addition, this project will get Phase 1 of the project to 60% design.  Public outreach will be an important part of this project.
