Why is the City doing this Project?

This city project 2304 called Complete Streets, has a Grant to provide sidewalk where there is missing connectivity in a segment of the city. This provides pedestrian walking route connecting Viewdale Avenue south along South Wenatchee Avenue and connects to existing sidewalk north of Terminal Avenue adjacent Mission View School.

What will the Project include?

Construction of new curb, sidewalk, curb ramps, driveways and storm water collection, replacing existing curb ramp on Viewdale.

 What to expect

This project will kick off in 2024 and run for 3 weeks. The working hours will be between 7:00am-6:00pm.  Traffic revision with detour will begin when the contractor starts.  A Lane shift will occur along South Wenatchee Avenue approaching Viewdale, providing working area along the West shoulder. West bound lane of Viewdale will remain open, with Flagging. East bound lane of Viewdale between Dundas Street and South Wenatchee Avenue will be closed to through traffic for 3 weeks, open for access to local properties, no connection to South Wenatchee Avenue East bound.
