Home MenuSpringwater Avenue Improvements
Why is the City doing this project?
Springwater Avenue is currently in poor condition and lacks adequate pedestrian and bike facilities.
In 2019, the City was awarded grant funding from the Transportation Improvement Board to complete essential improvements due to the increased residential development in the foothills west of Western Avenue.
What will this Project include?
This project will construct new sidewalk, curb and gutter, bike lanes, lighting and stormwater facilities on Springwater Avenue between Woodward Drive and Western Ave. The project will also install a new stormwater pipe in Western Avenue between Springwater Avenue and Central Avenue.
What to expect:
The City's contractor completed the majority of the roadway improvements in 2023. Springwater will be closed again to thru traffic for a few weeks in Spring of 2024, when the contractor returns to finish final striping for the project and finish installing the illumination system.

More project details
KRCI of East Wenatchee is the contractor for the Springwater Avenue Improvements Project. During 2023, they completed a majority of the project by constructing new retaining walls to facilitate a widened roadway section, installed new stormwater infrastructure, and installed new concrete sidewalks, driveways, and pavement for the new roadway. Remaining work to be done in the Spring of 2024 includes final striping and final installation of the illumination system. Due to procurement delays for the lighting manufacturer the work was unable to be completed in a single construction season. Additional updates to the schedule will be provided as they become available.
