Why is the City doing this project?

There are numerous signalized intersections along the SR 285 Couplet (both Mission St and Chelan Ave) that have insufficient signal heads.

What will this project include?

Upgrade signal heads to current standards, all 12: indicators with retro-reflective backplates along SR 285 (both Mission St and Chelan Ave) at the intersections of: Kittitas St, Yakima St, Orondo Ave, Palouse St, First St, Second St and Fifth St.

What to expect

This project is set to begin Fall 2026. The work will mostly be done at night and there will be lane closures with flaggers. We do not anticipate any water or power outages.
