The City of Wenatchee intends to adopt revisions to the Title 10 of the Wenatchee City Code.

The amendments include:

Draft revisions to 10.08, 10.10, and 10.48 of the Wenatchee City Code, creating definitions for two new land use categories (Cryptocurrency Mining and Data Center), incorporating the new land use categories in the district use chart, and adopting regulations applicable to those uses.

The amendments were sent to the Washington State Department of Commerce as required by RCW 36.70A.106 for an expedited 14-day comment period. The comment period began on November 30, 2018 and concludes on December 14, 2018. The City of Wenatchee has issued a determination of non-significance (DNS) in compliance with RCW 43.21C.

The City of Wenatchee Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on December 11, 2018 at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers of Wenatchee City Hall, 129 South Chelan Avenue, Wenatchee to consider the proposed amendments. The public is invited to attend the public hearings and comment on all pertinent matters.

The Wenatchee City Council will hold a public hearing on January 10, 2019 at 5:15 PM in the Council Chambers of Wenatchee City Hall, 301 Yakima Street, 2nd Floor, Wenatchee to consider the proposed amendments. The public is invited to attend the public hearings and comment on all pertinent matters. This hearing was originally noticed to occur at the location of the old City Hall on Chelan Street.  

How Can I Participate?

It is anticipated that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the draft amendments in December and the City Council is expected to hold a public hearing and take final action in January. The public is invited to testify at either or both hearings.
