Public Records Requests

The Governor has issued a proclamation concerning the Public Records Act. This proclamation has been extended until midnight, July 1, 2020.

With the current public health emergency during the COVID-19 disease outbreak, the Governor has issued a proclamation that Agencies must still respond to Public Records Act requests during the COVID-19 disease outbreak; however, the Governor’s proclamation temporarily suspends Public Records Act language requiring agencies to provide an ability for the public to conduct Public Records Act business at an agency office, in-person, such as in-person inspection of records or in-person submission of Public Records Act requests.

The City Clerk is designated as the public records officer for the City of Wenatchee. The City Clerk shall be the person to whom members of the public may direct requests for disclosure of public records of the City of Wenatchee and who will oversee the City of Wenatchee's compliance with the public records disclosure requirements of the public disclosure laws of the State of Washington as now or hereafter amended (see RCW 42.56 and Wenatchee City Code Chapter 1.90 Requests for Public Records).
